Artificial Intelligence on Fighting Climate Crises: Friend or Foe?

We can discuss the achievements and positive impacts that the growth of the Renewable Energy sector on fighting the climate crisis we are now facing more than ever but that would be somewhat partial analysis. 

There are always 2 sides of the coin and if we can feel satisfaction about the path of change already travelled, we must face the long and difficult road of climatic challenges yet to come.

Artificial Intelligence and its enormous capabilities are as scary as exciting and experts are now confronted with all the benefits that AI can bring in fighting climate change, such as stated in a CBS News article: “With the help of AI, scientists can better model climate patterns, identify trends and make predictions so they can have a clearer understanding of climate change and effective mitigation strategies”. 

However, AI’s actual carbon footprint is a big concern for some experts.
